Westminster Abbey

You can see all of London solo, but there are some sights you just don’t want to miss. Westminster Abbey is one of these. A firm favourite of the British Royal Family, it has been the venue of 17 royal weddings, the most recent of which was the wedding of Prince William to Kate Middleton on 29th April, 2011. This UNESCO World Heritage site has been the coronation church for every British monarch since 1066, and over 3,300 people have been buried or commemorated in its grounds, including Chaucer, Newton, Darwin and Dickens.

Tower Bridge

Tower Bridge – not to be confused with London Bridge – has linked one side of the River Thames to the other since 1894. Having undergone a major facelift over the years, the iconic bridge is now famed as much for its modern Glass Walkway as well its fascinating Victorian bascules. Sir Horace Jones, the architect who designed Tower Bridge was also the name behind many iconic Victorian London constructs. These include Leadenhall Market, Smithfield Market and Billingsgate Market. Some may say Tower Bridge is the perfect spot for a solo selfie or two.
