Chelsea Football Club facts

  • Chelsea, along with Arsenal were the first clubs to play with numbered shirts. Their first appearance with these kits was in 1928 against Swansea City.
  • Chelsea broke the record for the number of points accumulated by a team. The record is set at 95 which Chelsea achieved when they won the Premier League in 2004 – 2005
  • Former owner, Ken Bates purchased Chelsea FC for £1 in 1982 before selling it in 2003 to Russian billionaire, Roman Abramovich in 2003.
  • Chelsea FC is the only British club to have won all three of UEFA’s major trophies – the Champions League, Europa League and Cup Winners’ Cup.
  • Chelsea holds the record for the longest streak of unbeaten matches at home in the English top-flight. Their run of unbeaten games stretched to 86 matches between March 2004 and October 2008.

Newly refurbished in 2017, the store has two floors dedicated to all things Chelsea. Pick up your own home, away or away kits. You’ll also find a range of fashion apparel for men women and children. Get a shirt printed with your favourite player's name and number at the exclusive print bar in the store.

The attraction operates a pre-booking system for its guided tours. Please email tours@chelseafc.com with your name and pass numbers. Chelsea FC will then email confirmation back. The tour is not booked until you have received the email confirmation. Customers who don't wish to book in advance may still be granted admission on the day but will need to wait for the next available time slot.

Tours do not take place on home match days or the day before a European fixture.
The museum will be open on selected match days.

Matches and fixtures are subject to change so ring in advance to check. Please arrive at least 30 minutes before the start of your tour, especially at peak times. It is always advisable to check the website for any changes to opening times before arriving at the Stadium.

Getting in

Present you London pass at the main tours and museum entrance.

Tours run from 10.00 – 3.00 pm and depart at least twice an hour. Tours last around 60 – 90 minutes.

The Museum is open from 9.30 - 17.00 and last entry is at 16.30.
