New season at Shakespeare's Globe
Last Updated: Sun 30 Nov 2008

Shakespeare's Globe theatre has announced the line-up for its forthcoming 2009 season.

Opening on April 23rd, the day of the playwright's birthday, the season is entitled Young Hearts and will include some of the Bard's most popular plays as well as work by some other intriguing writers.

Highlights include Love's Labour's Lost, Romeo and Juliet and Troilus and Cressida.

In addition, the season will feature the classical Greek drama Helen by Euripides as well as Che Walker's The Frontline, a tale of modern-day London which received popular and critical acclaim during its run last year.

The season will finish on October 10th. Public booking for tickets begins February 14th.

Work began on Shakespeare's Globe in 1987 and it opened ten years later. The theatre is both a dramatic performance venue and an international resource for the study and interpretation of Shakespearean texts.

LondonPass holders can enjoy a free tour of the theatre as well as access to fascinating exhibition, saving £10.50 for adults and £6.50 for children.ADNFCR-1693-ID-18898712-ADNFCR
