Royal gallery to host Belgian mastersThe Queen's Gallery at Buckingham Palace is to open an exhibition of the best in Belgian painting.
Brueghel to Rubens Masters of Flemish Painting opens on October 17th and will run until April 26th 2009. It is the latest exhibition to run in the popular gallery.
Although sometimes overshadowed by the master painters of it's neighbour the Netherlands, this exhibitions underlines how Belgian painting has seen an increasing level of recognition among the wider public in recent years, having been well thought of in art circles for some time.
Exhibition highlights will include Brueghel's widely-acclaimed Massace of the Innocents, which Guardian art critic Jonathan Jones described as being worth the price of admission alone.
Of course, the price of admission is not something LondonPass holders need think about as they are entitled to free entry on production of their card at the ticket office, offering savings of £8.50 for adults and £4.25 for children.
