Celebrate the 'Year of the Tree' at Kew Gardens
Last Updated: Tue 26 Aug 2008

Visitors to London can celebrate the Year of the Tree Festival by exploring Kew Gardens this summer.

The bank holiday weekend may have been a washout for some; however, forecasters are predicting sunshine over the coming week, providing visitors to London with the perfect excuse to take a stroll around Kew Gardens.

Sightseers can gain entry to Kew Gardens by using their London Pass and can "explore trees like never before".

The new Xsatra Treetop Walkway allows visitors to see Britain's trees from high above and explore the sights usually reserved for birds, while the Rhizotron Walkway enables visitors to delve underground and see tree roots close-up.

Running until September 28th, the Year of the Tree Festival will also see Kew Gardens host a range of tree-related events including a scratch card tour, photographic exhibition and bonsai tree display.

Meanwhile, nature-lovers will have the opportunity to go behind-the-scenes at Kew on September 21st, when the Tropical Nursery Open Day takes place.

Visitors to Kew Gardens can gain entry to the venue using their London Pass. ADNFCR-1693-ID-18747785-ADNFCR
