'King of the superfruits' grown at Kew Gardens

What is being billed as the 'king of the superfruits' has been grown under glass at the Kew Gardens, it has been revealed.
The baobab fruit, which has just been given approval by the European Union (EU) for use in smoothies and cereal bars, is packed full of vitamins, calcium and health-boosting antioxidants, according to the BBC.
Cyril Lombard of Phytotrade Africa, which has campaigned for the EU approval, commented: " The main market that we see it for in the immediate future is the healthy snacks and drinks market."
Mr Lombard also said that in the future baobab could be appearing on shop shelves in baked goods and products such as jams.
Paul Smith, head of the millennium seed bank at Kew Gardens, said the baobab tree could be around 1,000 years old.
London Pass holders can receive free entry to Kew Gardens.
