Giuseppe Fioroni exhibition at the Foundling Museum
Last Updated: Sun 20 Jul 2008

Until September 14th, art enthusiasts visiting London have the chance to see an exhibition of work by the Italian artist Giuseppe Fioroni at the Foundling Museum.

The colourful show is a celebration of childhood fantasy that takes its inspiration from the medieval era and the works of the Modern masters.

Among the exhibits are oil paintings and multimedia displays on canvas which demonstrate the artist's keen interest in the personal themes of Umbrian tradition, religion and folklore - a fascination that has spanned three decades.

Giuseppe Fioroni was born in 1938 and also plays traditional Umbrian instruments such as the bagpipes and the barrel-organ.

John T Spike comments on GiuseppeFiorini.it: "Fioroni's paintings have the innocence, joy and honesty of children, and they have a serious side too, although you need to know them, again like children, before they let you see it."

London Pass holders can receive free admission to the Foundling Museum.
