Things to do in London: St Paul's Cathedral visitors treated to EAST Festival

Published: Tuesday 9th of March 2010

Tourists visiting St Paul's Cathedral were able to visit another London attraction last week, with Spitalfields hosting the EAST festival.

The iconic London attraction is popular among sightseers visiting the capital, and would have overlooked tourists making their way to the nearby event.

EAST festival was brought together by the Mayor of London Boris Johnson to celebrate the range of cultures present in east London.

Over 100 specially-curated artist-led events took place during this year's event, including Bicycle Polo, Kabbadi and Carrom games.

Speaking before the opening, Mr Johnson said: "This year promises to be a real box of delights with a range of world class artists, exciting performances and activities that range from building your own home to bicycle polo."

Tourists opting to cycle around London on their trip to the city are set to benefit from a new Cycle Safety Action Plan, unveiled by the mayor and Transport for London this week.
