Things to do in London: Follow in Churchill's footsteps at the War Rooms

Published: Tuesday 11th of May 2010

History buffs should look no further: the Churchill Museum and Cabinet War Rooms are surely among the top London attractions for those who want to sample an incredible bygone era.

And visitors have until August 27th to experience a special exhibition entitled Undercover – Life in Churchill's Bunker, which examines living and working in the Cabinet War Rooms during the Second World War.

The exhibition focuses on the personal accounts of those who worked in the Cabinet War Rooms during that tumultuous period.

"Images, artefacts and the first-hand oral accounts of those who worked in the Cabinet War Rooms bring the working conditions in Churchill's secret underground headquarters vividly to life," reveals the London attraction's official website.

It adds that there is something for everyone at the Churchill War Rooms, with special activities even making it a fascinating destination for children.

The Churchill War Rooms are located on King Charles Street in London, close to both the Westminster and St James's Park tube stations.
