Tap your feet to the beats of Samba for things to do in London

Published: Monday 23rd of August 2010

Tourists planning their visits to London attractions such as the Hampton Court Palace or the Royal Albert Hall can enrich their experiences of the capital by making a stop at the Southbank Centre to enjoy the unique Festival Brazil.

The event is a celebration of everything Brazilian, featuring classes in traditional dances to moqueca dishes and caipirinha cocktails.

Local youth in London have got together to create a striking model of a favela in the very heart of London. Families stopping by to take in the work of brilliance can also opt to participate in an arts workshop, which is titled Recycling Brazil.

The Capoeira into Shakespeare Masterclass will give dance lovers a unique insight into the traditional forms of Brazilian dance.

Later on in the month, the festival will also benefit from a live act put together by the talented Adriano Adewale Trio that is set to take centre stage, offering visitors an exciting mix of Afro-Brazilian percussions.

London will also be hosting a unique garden party in September as Prince Charles joins forces with musicians, artists and designers to raise awareness about the need for a sustainable future.
