London to be made "envy of the world"
Published: Thursday 30th of April 2009
A 20-year vision for London has been laid-out by the city's mayor, which he hopes will make it the "envy of the world".
He wants to ensure the city leads in financial markets, while embracing the social change it is constantly undergoing.
"My aim is to strike these difficult balances, tying together social, economic and environmental policies to make London a better place to live, to work and to do business in for future generations," he revealed.
Among his proposals are measures to help tackle climate change, with temperatures in London expected to rise by the middle of the century.
Those interested in the environment may wish to visit the Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew, which is renowned for its efforts at conservation and its historical legacy.
With the London Pass, visitors can gain free entry, saving £13 on the cost of an adult ticket.
