London attractions: Pop-up beach at Whitechapel
Published: Monday 16th of August 2010
Visitors planning their trips to London attractions such as the Kew Gardens can take advantage of a pop-up beach at Whitechapel.
Located across from the Whitechapel Gallery, the Scrivener's Cove provides a unique opportunity for travellers and Londoners to enjoy a perfect day out.
Apart from lazing in the sun with a nice read, visitors can participate in a wide variety of unusual activities that are bound to keep them entertained.
These include a literary volleyball which will pitch Sally O'Reilly and Simon Bill against the wits of Semina Experimental Fiction Team and Steward Home on a paper court specially designed for the event.
Book lovers can also make the most of the snack bar stacked with fanzines, books and magazines. For a spot of beach fun, families can also try their hand at beach combing to discover hidden treasures of holiday novels.
Travellers may want to extend their stay in London in order to catch the live action of the England vs Pakistan test match scheduled to take place at the Lord's Cricket Ground.
