Published: Monday 2nd of August 2010
Travellers as well as Londoners can enjoy the best of the jazz scene in Britain, including celebrated musicians and new talent.
The event kicked off at the Ronnie Scott venue and also coincided with the launch of a dedicated radio station. This club radio will be featuring live recordings from the festival alongside looking back at 1959, which marked the release of several historic jazz numbers.
Scheduled to make appearances are Kalvin Singh, Brian Auger and James Taylor with their astonishing trombone, keyboard and Hammond renditions set to awe the audiences.
Jazz-lovers who also have a keen eye for photography can make a trip to the National Gallery and to the adjacent National Portrait Gallery which is hosting a a special Camille Silvy exhibition that documents life in 1857-67.
