London attractions: Across the Street, Around the World

Visiting the Across the Street, Around the World festival could make for interesting things to do in London.

The festival offers three weeks of culture, literature, music and arts from around the world and draws on local talent based in the area of West London.

Packed with events such as a talk by celebrated reggae poet Linton Kwesi Johnson, a nu-jazz performance put together by LeRoy Smith and the tracing the impact of Black youth culture on screen, the festival is bound to appeal to a wide variety of audiences.

Also on offer will be unique film show showcasing winning titles from the 2010 Portobello Film Festival.

The festival offers a well-rounded celebration of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, giving visitors a chance to soak into the cultural diversity and richness of the West London community.

Visitors can also head to the Estorick Collection of Modern Italian Art or visit the Story of London festival to learn more about the history of the capital.
