London 'like no other place in the world'
Published: Thursday 2nd of April 2009
London has a unique status and is like no other place in the world, visitors to the capital say.
Visit London asked tourists what they think of the capital and was told that they enjoy its culture, history and experiences.
Following these findings, Ken Kelling, communications director at the organisation, calls on London attractions to highlight what makes them special in order to attract visitors, not focus on the good value for money foreign visitors get due to the current weakness of the pound.
"What they are expecting is all the great things that the capital has because they believe they are unique and special," he comments.
Mr Kelling also highlights the fact the London is seen as the best place for fashion, music and nightlife.
Last month, a £2 million marketing campaign called Only in London was launched, aimed at highlighting the unique London attractions and experiences on offer.
Visitors to the capital can not only enjoy its uniqueness, but will save money on attractions, museums and historic buildings with a London Pass.
