London 'has more than meets the eye'

Published: Sunday 8th of March 2009

London is more than just a shopaholics dream, it also has its fair share of cultural attractions, two writers reveal.

With 2,000 years of economic, religious and political drama, there is plenty to do in the city, says Barbara Braidwood and Rick Cropp, writing for the Cantwest News Service.

"Lanes walked by Charles Darwin, Shakespeare and Jack the Ripper still exist and everywhere you go little pockets that haven't changed much in several centuries stand next to thoroughly modern buildings," they continue.

Among the top attractions is St Paul's Cathedral and Kensington Palace, the travellers reveal, although there are "dozens" of museums, palaces and other historic locations to choose from.

They also used the London Pass on their visit, which, when coupled with a travel card, gave them great access to areas all over the city, while providing free entry to 55 attractions.

St Paul's Cathedral is just one of these, with London Pass holders saving £10 on an adult ticket and £3.50 on a child's.
