Have an extraterrestrial experience for things to do in London
Published: Monday 18th of October 2010
The Close Encounters festival is bound to appeal to those who have a penchant for anything extraterrestrial.
A unique event packed with unusual activities, it offers something for people of all ages and interests.
Visitors can get an idea of how the British government has been dealing with Unidentified Flying Objects (UFOs) over the past few years. The national archives have been enriched by documents released by the government in response to a Freedom of Information request.
Kids will also have a lot of fun with the themed food available at the festival. On offer will be Martian munch-boxes, alien invasion cup-cakes and a range of cocktails such as Milky-Way and E-tini for adults.
Families can also get together and have a bit of intergalactic fun at the workshops organised by the Royal Observatory and enjoy movie classics such as Close Encounters of the Third Kind and E.T., among others.
