HMS Belfast: One of the top London attractions
Published: Monday 11th of February 2013
The UK has a proud naval heritage, largely due to it being an island, so what better way to indulge in this than with a trip around HMS Belfast?
Since taking to the water in 1938 she has been a staple part of the navy and performed well in both World War Two and the Korean War, remaining the only surviving Royal Navy armoured ship from the first half of the twentieth century.
She suffered extensive damage during World War Two and it took around three years to be fully restored to working order.
Even if you don't know a great deal about naval vessels, there is plenty of information on hand at the attraction and, what's more she is ideally located for those wandering around London.
She's moored between the London and Tower Bridges and has been since she was retired from duty in 1965.
By purchasing a London Pass beforehand, you can see HMS Belfast for free, which represents a saving of more than £10 on the usual adult entry price.
