Cartoon Museum exhibition to take place in London
Published: Thursday 1st of May 2008
Graham Laidler enthusiasts will be happy to hear that an exhibition of his work is taking place in the capital.
What Does It Mean To Be British? opened on St George's Day.
The exhibition will consist of 100 of the artist's cartoons and a number of his sketchbooks and other drawings.
It offers a glimpse into the artist's world where he wryly poked fun at the British idiosyncrasies for so many years.
"A sad reflection on the British character has been a tendency to ignore Pont, who was a comic genius and the best cross-hatcher since George Cruikshank," noted Peter Brookes of the Times.
The museum houses the history of the British cartoon from its origins in the 18th century through to the present day. This tourist attraction will be enjoyable for both children and adults alike.
