Things to do in London: Cultural Olympiad 2012
Published: Wednesday 9th of June 2010
Sports fans flocking to the capital for the 2012 Olympic Games will have a wide variety of choices for things to do in London.
Apart from the upcoming Games attracting million of visitors from across the globe as well as home fans, the Culture Olympiad will give visitors to enjoy the city in another light.
London attractions across the capital will be transformed into a Cultural Metropolis with public spaces being adorned by art pieces. Cultural venues such as the Renoir Cinema will no doubt benefit from the increased activity of film and music buffs, taking advantage of London Film Day and jazz recitals across the capital.
Mayor of London Boris Johnson said: "It is creativity, first and foremost, not funding that is central to London's cultural life, and there is much to be done in terms of better co-ordination, reducing duplication and ensuring that the investment made over the next few years can have as big an impact as possible."
In line with his comments, Mayor Johnson recently unveiled the Cultural Diary which it is hoped will help visitors enhance their stay in London.
