It will be on at the London attraction the Theatre Royal Haymarket from April 30th and Simon Callow and Roger Pickup will also feature in the performance of one of Beckett's most notable plays, while Sean Mathias directs.
The play tells the story of Vladimir, who Stewart will portray, and Estragon (McKellen) as they wait for Godot.
According to organisers the Beckett collaboration will be "the theatre event of the year".
For those looking for some theatre immediately, Steven Berkoff is starring in On the Waterfront and he is also the director of the play now booking at the Haymarket.
The theatre itself was first constructed back in 1720 by carpenter John Potter, with the first show a performance of La Fille a la Mode, presented by the Duke of Montagu.
