Schoolchildren 'perform at Royal Albert Hall'

Published: Tuesday 17th of March 2009

A group of schoolchildren have had their musical dream realised by performing at the Royal Albert Hall, reports reveal.

The pupils, all from the Ryde School, all took part in the chorus for a production of Carmen, George Bizet's classic opera, the Welwyn and Hatfield Times states.

Headteacher Janet Goddard told the paper: "The children all thoroughly enjoyed the experience and for many it was a once in a lifetime opportunity."

All the children auditioned for the role at the London venue, which gave them the opportunity to perform on alternate days between February 27th and March 8th.

The 12 pupils of the Hatfield school are all aged between seven and 11, the publication reveals.

People heading to London can see the Royal Albert Hall for themselves, gaining free entry with the London Pass.

It will save £8 on the price of a normal adult ticket.
