Published: Monday 3rd of August 2009
The BBC Proms season is well underway and there are still many concerts for classical music fans to enjoy at the Royal Albert Hall this summer.
Over eight weeks, some 100 concerts will take place at the Royal Albert Hall and Cadogan Hall, featuring performers of all ages on various instruments.
Highlights of the BBC Proms include concerts by the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra and a day of Indian voices.
The event culminates with the Last Night of the Proms on September 12th, with BBC Singers, BBC Symphony Chorus and BBC Symphony Orchestra.
Works set to be performed include Haydn's Trumpet Concerto in E flat and Handel's Music for the Royal Fireworks.
The evening will conclude in traditional style with Rule, Britannia!, Jerusalem, Pomp and Circumstance and the National Anthem.
Now in its 155th year, the BBC Proms concerts aim to present a wide range of music at the highest standards to a large audience.
