Royal Albert Hall to welcome legendary trombonist

Published: Wednesday 12th of November 2008

London's world-famous Royal Albert Hall will host one of the world's leading contemporary trombonists in concert this month.

On Friday 14th, Michael Mwenso will play in the Cafe Consort at 1200 as part of the venue's Ignite series of free lunchtime performances.

The important appearance will also form part of the London Jazz Festival and will be broadcast on BBC Radio 3.

In his youth Mwenso was regarded as something of a prodigy - blessed with superlative instrumental skills as well as a fine singing voice – and has worked with some of the biggest names in the jazz world.

London's Royal Albert Hall is home to hundreds of concerts throughout the year and recently saw American rock band The Killers return to live performance in the UK following their triumphant headline sets at the Reading and Leeds Festival this summer.

LondonPass holders can enjoy free tickets to the Royal Albert Hall tour, with adults saving £8.
