Romanian cinema given a share of the spotlight at the Renoir

Published: Friday 16th of January 2009

The creative output of an Eastern European nation not readily associated with the cinematic arts is to be given a much higher profile thanks a screening and Q&A session at the Renoir cinema today (January 16th).

Boogie, directed by Radu Muntean, will be complemented by a question and answer session with three of the film's lead actors, Anamaria Marinca, Alexandru Baciu and Mimi Branescu.

The piece tells the story of Bogdan, who is enjoying life with his wife and young son on a weekend by the coast, having moved on from his former days of wild partying and youthful recklessness.

His serenity and domestic bliss is threatned, however, when he encounters a group of former high school classmates, forcing Bodgan – who was known to his friends as 'Boogie' – to reconsider his priorities.

LondonPass holders can enjoy free entry to all performances at the Renoir from Monday to Thursday (except bank holidays) at any time and on Friday and Sunday (plus bank holidays) for all performances starting before 17.00.
