Picasso to challenge the past at London attraction

Culture vultures heading to London attractions this year may be interested in the current Picasso exhibition taking place at the National Gallery.

Named Picasso: Challenging the Past, the exhibition will continue until June 7th and it looks into the influence of other artists on the famous Spaniard.

It focuses particularly on what Picasso adopted from the masters of the past and then went on to create his own responses to them.

Around 60 of the artist's work are to be found at the exhibition and it is organised thematically, including sections on self-portraits, the female nude and still life.

The exhibition has been organised by the National Gallery and the Reunion des Musees Nationaux in Paris.

It has also has special support from the Musee National Picasso in Paris.

Later in the year, the National Gallery will host Corot to Monet: A fresh look at landscape from the Collection, starting on July 8th.

Holders of a London Pass can access to top London attractions and those that have been to the Picasso exhibition may then want to head on to the Estorick Collection of Modern Italian Art.
