Outdoor theatre can make a dramatic addition to things to do in London

Published: Tuesday 22nd of June 2010

Visitors heading to London attractions for a day of family fun can immerse themselves into the city's cultural offerings with the National Theatre's Watch This Space Festival.

Opening tomorrow and spanning the rest of this week, the festival offers a range of acrobatic, dance, circus, film and outdoor theatre events, catering to all age brackets.

The festival kicks off with an outrageous piano recital suspended six metres in the air. The Floten Tecles (The Floating Keyboard) will be performed by David Moreno.

Also on the cards is entertainment by Canadian comedian Mike Wood with a penchant for using his head to catch cabbages thrown at him.

Travellers can also choose from a wide variety of outdoor theatre performances ranging from re-worked Shakespearean dramas to an adaptation of Jose Zorrilla's Don Juan by The Steam Industry.

Theatre-lovers can also pack in a visit to the Shakespeare's Globe Theatre Tour and Exhibition to bring their day to a dramatic end.
