Opera comes to the Curzon Mayfair over the festive season

Published: Sunday 21st of December 2008

One of London's best-loved cinemas is to collaborate with the Metropolitan Opera this month, as part of a wider set of cultural performances across the group of venues.

The cinema, located in one of the most prestigious parts of the capital, will show a live screening of Thais on December 20th.

Later in the month the Royal Opera House will be given top billing as the cinema holds the first in the 2008/9 series of screenings.

The season will kick off with a screened performance of the Nutcracker – performed by the Royal Ballet – on December 28th.

Further performances at the Mayfair location and across the Curzon group will take place throughout the year, with highlights including Handel's Messiah screened live from King's College Chapel in Cambridge and Verdi's La Traviata.

LondonPass holders can enjoy a free film at the Curzon Mayfair for all performances on Monday to Thursday (except bank holidays) at any time, and on Friday to Sunday (including bank holidays) for all screenings starting before 17:00, saving £10 for adults and £5 for children.
