National Theatre offers 'a night less ordinary'

Published: Wednesday 11th of February 2009

One of the capital's top tourist attractions and cultural venues is to offer free show tickets to members of the public in a bid to engage the younger generation in the arts.

The National Theatre on London's South Bank is one of the biggest names participating in A Night Less Ordinary, a scheme devised by Arts Council England (ACE) to offer people under 26 the chance to see a show for free.

ACE hopes that this scheme will encourage young people who have never visited the theatre before to try something a little different and hopefully see a play which will open their minds to not only the issues being discussed but this kind of culture as a whole.

LondonPass holders can get in on the freebie action and enjoy a fascinating behind-the-scenes look at a working theatre with free admission to the National Theatre Backstage Tours, a saving of £5 for adults and £4 for children.
