Music and fashion to 'the Alb'

Published: Thursday 9th of October 2008

World-famous performing arts venue the Royal Albert Hall is to play host to a music carnival of fashion and music this month.

On the October 14th, the ThisDay Music & Fashion Festival will grace the famous stage at the venue better known for the slightly more reserved spectacle of the annual BBC Proms concert series.

This show sees the culmination of an event which has taken place across four cities in three nations and will feature the vocal talents of superstars Christina Aguilera and Seal, among others.

The list of designers contributing is no less star-studded, as British sartorial favourite Ozwald Boateng is just one of those to lend their threads to the festival.

Completing the celebrated line-up, supermodels Tyson Beckford, Naomi Campbell and Alek Wek will be among those sashaying down the catwalk.

Of course the show has a serious side, as it aims to raise awareness of the specific "sustainable solutions" facing the people of Africa, rather than merely identifying issues and focussing on the problems rather than hope.

Those wishing to gain an inside look at the Royal Albert Hall can get a free guided tour around the 137 year-old venue on production of their LondonPass, which represents a saving of £8.00.
