London to host Jackson tribute concert?

Published: Wednesday 15th of July 2009

Plans may be in motion to stage a tribute concert for Michael Jackson, the late star's promoter has hinted.

Speaking to Radio 6 Music, Randy Phillips said it is likely to happen on August 29th, which would have been Jackson's 51st birthday.

"The number one item I'm discussing is presenting This Is It the production, hopefully with the Jacksons and maybe Janet, and other artists," he revealed.

Phillips suggested that plans needed to be put into motion quickly for there to be any chance of the concert being held at London's O2 Arena, where Jackson was due to start a 50-date residency.

If it goes ahead, the gig will be screened across the world, he added.
