London attractions: National Poetry Day

Published: Tuesday 5th of October 2010

Visitors making their way to the capital can enjoy a day of poetry for things to do in London.

This year's National Poetry Day is centred on the theme of home and is packed with a series of events that will no doubt appeal to a wide variety of audiences.

It is set to benefit from appearances made by the winners of the Foyle Young Poets Award, Simon Armitage and poet-in-residence Daljit Nagra among others.

The National Poetry Day will also be showcasing a film based on a poem by Philip Gross to allow visitors the opportunity to experience poetry in performance.

There will be the chance to pick up tips and advice from the best talent around with regards to teaching poetry as well as to cultivate ideas for future events.

Visiting other London attractions could also lead to a more enriched experience, such as heading to the Royal Albert Hall for an evening of jazz with Arun Ghosh.
