London attraction Madness for LIFF
Published: Wednesday 8th of April 2009
A film about British ska band Madness will be one of the more sought after London attractions when it opens this year's London Independent Film Festival (LIFF).
The Liberty of Norton Folgate will be screened at the capital's Coronet venue in Elephant and Castle for the festival, which takes place between April 17th and 27th.
More than 115 new independent films will be screened throughout the capital's many venues during the ten-day cinematic event showcasing the latest micro-budget UK movies.
The film comes ahead of the imminent release of the band's latest album and situates Madness "where they belong, clearly within a uniquely English popular musical culture", according to director Julian Temple.
LIFF will close on its final night with a premier of The Burial by first-time directors Danielle Boucher and David Mills.
