Jacko's O2 residency earnings lead to lawsuit

Published: Thursday 7th of May 2009

Michael Jackson is being sued by his former publicist over the sharing of profits, it is claimed.

Raymone Bain is believed to be suing the singer for £29 million, accusing the King of Pop of not sharing profits, including those from his forthcoming gigs at London's O2 Arena.

The lawsuit was filed yesterday at a court in Washington DC, demanding ten per cent of the singer's earnings from the deals.

In a statement, she said: "Mr Jackson and I have had a long, productive and mutually beneficial business relationship.

"Unfortunately, Mr. Jackson has elected not to honour the financial obligations of our contractual relationship, despite my numerous attempts to amicably resolve this matter."

The London shows have been met with many rumours since they were announced and are reported to feature live animals.
