Innovative new production comes to the National

Published: Saturday 20th of December 2008

Well-known for inventive, engaging and pioneering work, the National Theatre in London's Trafalgar Square will soon see the arrival of Every Good Boy Deserves Favour.

Tom Stoppard's play features a musical score by world-famous composer and conductor Andre Previn and is to be staged with a full orchestra in this innovative production.

The work takes on themes of liberty and sanity and, through classic examples of the playwright's trademark dark humour, questions exactly what each means in our society.

One of the leading names in the play is Toby Jones, in the role of Ivanov, who has won widespread critical acclaim for his stage and screen work in recent years.

Jones' most recent appearance was as former presidential advisor Karl Rove, an important and influential figure in the Bush White House, in Oliver Stone's biopic W, as well playing Truman Capote in Infamous and a part in the forthcoming Frost/Nixon.

The National Theatre Backstage Tour gives visitors a fascinating insight into the working of a busy and successful theatre.

LondonPass holders can gain free admission to the tour, saving £5 for adults and £4 for children.
