Fans go wild for Jacko tickets
Published: Friday 13th of March 2009
Scores of Michael Jackson fans have gathered outside London's O2 arena in hope of securing tickets to his UK shows.
The King of Pop initially announced ten gigs at the London venue - said to be his last on British soil - before adding a further 40 dates due to popular demand.
So far, 360,000 pre-sale tickets have been sold for the concerts, which kick-off on July 8th.
Randy Phillips, of promoters AEG Live, comments: "Not only are these concerts unparalleled, these records will never be broken.
"We knew this was show business history but this is a cultural phenomenon."
Tickets went on sale at 07:00 GMT, with fans camping outside the O2 arena in a bid to get seats for the shows.
People thinking of heading to London for the Michael Jackson concerts can make the most of the city with their London Pass, which gives free entry to a host of attractions.
