Delve into the world of comics for things to do in London
Published: Monday 20th of September 2010
Comic lovers planning their trips to London attractions such as the Cartoon Museum are set for a treat when they visit the capital.
Visitors can make the most of their time in London by adding a trip to the Pump House Gallery.
An on-going comics exhibition traces the development of the graphic art with time, benefitting from works by a number of artists.
Titled Hypercomics, the exhibition has been curated by Paul Gravett and exhibits a wide collection ranging from Daniel Goodbrey's The Archivist to Adam Dant's Library of Doctor London.
One of the most impressive works in the exhibition is an installation by indie comics artist Dave McKean. The Rut is a piece that reflects the experience of prison by one of McKean's creations.
Overall, the Hypercomics exhibition will no doubt make for an extraordinary experience where comics transgress their usual purview of teeny bopper readerships and take their place in the art world.
