After visiting London attractions, take a trip to the London Short Film Festival

Published: Saturday 9th of January 2010

Those visiting England's capital this weekend should consider a visit to the London Short Film Festival to relax after a morning at London attractions.

The festival, now in its 7th year, kicked off last night (Friday, December 8th) with a launch party featuring special guest DJs.

Today visitors to the festival can attend Club des Femmes, which celebrates women making music and includes films by Carol Morley and Miranda Pennell. Club des Femmes will take place at the Institute of Contemporary Arts, cinema one at 15:30.

After an afternoon and evening packed with interesting events, the day will be rounded off with News Shorts 4: Midnight Movies. This selection of short films includes examples of surrealism to outright terror from a number of different independent film makers.

Tomorrow's highlights include News Shorts 7: How Long is Short? and Rich Pickings Presents: Lolita.

Those visiting London who prefer longer shows to short films may want to consider a trip to London's Apollo Victoria Theatre to see the musical Wicked, which grossed over £27 million last year.
