Published: Wednesday 11th of June 2008

A total of 2,500 will put on their running shoes this weekend to take part in the Windsor triathalon which takes in top London attractions such as Windsor Castle and Eton College.

Now in its 18th year, the events consists of a 1.5km swim, a 42km bike ride and 10km run, according to the Maidenhead Advertiser.

Formula One driver Jenson Button is a regular at the event and will be taking part in this year's race, aiming to break the two hours and 30 minutes barrier in the Olympic category.

He commented: "I really enjoy competing in triathlons, probably because I have total control over my race and the result, unlike F1 which is very much a team event."

The race attracts a range of people with varying abilities, from dedicated athletes to novices.

London Pass holders can receive free admission to Windsor Castle and Eton College, both of which are among the UK's most prestigious tourist attractions.
