Ticket ballot goes live for Wimbledon 2009
Published: Wednesday 22nd of October 2008
Visitors to London wishing to taste a unique British institution will be delighted to learn that the ticket ballot for Wimbledon 2009 has gone online.
Spectators can enter a draw to receive their choice of date and court, with lucky fans able to sample the unique atmosphere of the All England Lawn Tennis Club at its very best time of year.
Last year saw Spain's Rafael Nadal end the five-year championship-winning streak of Switzerland's Roger Federer, after the younger player had come close on the previous two occasions.
Having gone on to usurp Federer as world number one, a position he had held for an incredible record 237 consecutive weeks, Nadal will be looking to assert his dominance of the men's game at this year's tournament. But if anyone can come back from a defeat on the event's final day its Roger Federer.
The Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Museum is widely considered as being one of the best sports museums in the country, while the Wimbledon Tour Experience allows a unique behind-the-scenes glimpse into the best known tennis club in the world.
LondonPass holders can enjoy both of these attractions for free, with adults and children saving over £10 apiece.
