Terry sees red as Chelsea miss chance to go top

Chelsea spurned a chance to supplant Liverpool at the top of the Premier League last night as they stuttered to a 0-0 draw at Everton.
A rare poor away performance – this was only time they have failed to win on their travels this season – saw the Blues both miss the chance to aggrieve the whole of a divided footballing city and lose their captain to a red card in the first half.
Terry was dismissed following a lunge on Leon Osman after 35 minutes of a physical encounter bereft of the finesse with which the west London side have cruised to dominant away victories so far in this campaign.
With current pace-setters Liverpool failing to take advantage of a struggling Arsenal side at the weekend, Manchester United having been otherwise engaged in pursuit of official world domination and an extremely credible Aston Villa side snapping at their heels a mere four points behind, Scolari's men will be rueing last night's missed chances over breakfast this morning.
