Tennis stars to try out weather-proofed Wimbledon
Published: Wednesday 25th of February 2009
Top tennis stars are set to take to Wimbledon's Centre Court to play a match under its newly-installed roof.
Andre Agassi, Steffi Graf, Kim Clijsters and Tim Henman will make their way to the famous tennis venue on May 17th to see what conditions are like under the retractable roof.
"I have great memories of playing at Wimbledon and to be among the first to play under the new Centre Court roof is really exciting," comments tennis pro Andre Agassi.
Both the roof and air management systems will be tested when 15,000 tennis fans descend on the All England Club to see how things have changed.
Tickets to the event will cost £35 and are to go on sale on March 12th.
Fans of tennis can get behind the scenes of the world-famous venue by going on a tour of the Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Museum, saving £15 per adult with the London Pass.
