Sunny times ahead for Wimbledon

Published: Sunday 21st of June 2009

Weather experts are predicting this year's Wimbledon tournament might be like no other as the sun looks set to shine on the London club.

With the first matches starting on June 22nd, forecasters predict the hottest day of the year might occur on just the second day of the event.

According to the Met Office, London may experience temperatures of up to 28 degrees C, leaving tennis fans feeling the heat.

Officials on the court will be kept up-to-date on the weather throughout, the organisation states, although the players on Centre Court at least should not have to worry too much about what is going on overhead.

A retractable roof was installed since the last tournament, hopefully reducing the number of tomes that rain halts play.

Exploring the world-famous club is affordable with the London Pass, which gives free entry to the Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Museum.
