Special little girl's ice dreams come true
Published: Thursday 9th of October 2008
World and Olympic ice-skating champions Jane Torvill and Christopher Dean made one little girl's dreams come true at the Queens Ice and Bowl this month.
The gold medal-winning duo surprised Tilly Griffiths, who was named one of four Children of Courage at this years Mirror Pride of Britain Awards.
Eight year-old Tilly has always wanted to meet the gold medal-winning duo and she got her wish during a visit to London's only combined ice rink and bowling venue in Bayswater, south west London.
Tilly has battled against a serious muscle-wasting disease to raise over £300,000 for charity. Despite her physical disabilities she has become know as an inspirational speaker and enjoys pursuing a number of sports, one of which is ice-skating.
Any LondonPass holder who has themselves been inspired either by Torvill and Dean's famous exploits or Tilly's remarkable courage can enjoy a free session of ice-skating at Queens when they show their card.
Plus if bowling is more your thing then they also qualify for free use of the lanes.
