Rugby club 'could move' to Olympic Stadium
Published: Saturday 24th of May 2008
The Olympic Games look set to be one of the top London attractions in 2012, providing spectators with an international sporting extravaganza.
Debates continue, however, about the lasting legacy of the games once the sporting events have finished and what will happen to the venues which have been developed at the cost of millions of pounds.
News emerges that a London rugby club is in talks to make the Olympic Stadium, the centrepiece of the international tournament, their new home for the start of the 2015 rugby season.
London Skolars are currently in negotiations with Olympic bosses and could even share the 25,000-seater stadium with Leyton Orient football club or a rugby union club.
The cost of the stadium is estimated to be £500 million.
Fans of the rugby, second only to football and the UK's favourite sport, can get free entry to the Museum of Rugby with a London Pass. In addition to taking the Museum of Rugby experience, those in possession of the London Pass can enjoy a free tour of Twickenham Stadium - the home of English rugby.
