Olympic preparations 'going well'

Published: Friday 24th of April 2009

London's preparations for the 2012 Olympics are well on-track, it has been announced.

The International Olympic Committee's head of co-ordination Denis Oswald says he is "deeply impressed" by what he has seen so far.

"We gained the impression once again that the preparations are in good hands," he continues.

The expert anticipates that the Games will be "excellent", admitting that transportation still needs to be addressed.

Organisers including Lord Sebastian Coe are nevertheless doing a good job so far, Mr Oswald states, with the global recession not looking as though it will dampen spirits.

There are already many sporting sites for visitors to see in London, including Stamford Bridge and Wimbledon - home of the world-famous tennis tournament.

With the London Pass, tourists can go on the Chelsea FC Stadium Tour, saving £15 per adult and £9 per child or the Wimbledon Tour Experience, saving £15 on an adult ticket and £11 for a child.
