Olympic hope for London profile

Published: Sunday 22nd of March 2009

The 2012 Olympics is set to raise the profile of London even further, as it has with previous hosts, one expert believes.

Frances Tuke, public relations manager at ABTA - the Travel Association, says marketers will be ensuring pricing in the capital is just right, which could be good news for people considering a holiday there.

Hotels, for example, will be trying to entice customers with excellent rates and transport both into and inside London also likely to improve.

"We know that there has been a lot of work being done with the mayor and the government to try and make it successful, so I'm sure it will be fantastic," she reveals.

Holidaymakers in London can see the Olympic preparations for themselves with the London Pass, which can be paired with a travel card for an extra £7 a day.

That way, people can explore the city as they like, taking in sights along the way.
