Nadal qualifies for London finals

Published: Wednesday 20th of May 2009

Rafael Nadal has qualified for the ATP World Tour finals to be held in London later this year.

The world number one was the first player to qualify, with seven other tennis stars set to join him in November.

"To qualify was one of my goals and shows this season has already been a great success for me," he told reporters.

"London brings me great memories and the fans really support me each year."

The event will be held at the city's O2 arena between November 22nd and 29th.

Earlier this week saw the new roof over Wimbledon's centre court uncovered for the first time, which organisers hope will reduce the number of times rain stops play during this year's tournament.
