More cyclists means more safety, says expert

Having more cyclists on the streets of London will make the city a much safer place for bike users, claims one expert.
A spokesperson for Transport for London (TFL) says everything is being done to provide better cycling facilities for its residents and visitors.
"TFL will do a great deal to promote cycling and the cycle hire scheme ... to increase the number of people cycling, and also making it easy for people to use and operate," he continues.
He adds that the Oyster card scheme will hopefully be used to drive the scheme forward.
Visitors to the city who have a London Pass can try out cycling for themselves by embarking on a London Bicycle Tour, saving themselves £18.95 per adult and child.
Alternatively, for an additional £7 per day, they can take advantage of a London Travel Card, which will allow them to visit many parts of the capital.
