London to host summer cycling events

Published: Monday 22nd of June 2009

Efforts are being made to get Britons back on their bikes, with a number of events taking place throughout the capital.

In association with British Cycling, Sky will be hosting free events up and down the country, including the Mayor of London's Skyride on September 20th.

"I think the idea of encouraging people to cycle more is fantastic and urge everyone, of all ages and abilities, to take part in one of the Skyride events – they are fun, free and a great day out," model Elle MacPherson said at the launch.

The festivities are suitable for people of all ages and abilities, the organisers state, and the London events give people the chance to see top attractions as they navigate their way around the city.

Those interested in cycling can make the most of their trip to the capital with the London Pass, which gives free hire with the London Bicycle Tour Company.
